Preparing useful access information

A visit is easier to plan when the relevant areas and access limits are clear in advance.

Describe the affected areas

List the rooms, structures or outside edges where you have noticed activity. Mention whether the concern is visible now or was found during cleaning or maintenance. Do not open wall cavities or enter unsafe spaces to investigate.

Explain the access limits

Note locked utility rooms, narrow crawlspaces, storage that blocks a wall or gates that need an owner present. Ask what, if anything, should be moved before the appointment. Preparation depends on the work being proposed.

Ask what is included

A garden, garage or detached shed is not automatically part of an indoor service. Confirm which areas are in the scope and whether repairs, monitoring or later visits are separate. Keep a copy of the agreed instructions so everyone involved is working from the same information.

  • A list of affected rooms and separate structures
